Where to stay in Ipoh
Ipoh hotels & accommodations

My son and I both really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Weil. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have ever tried. ALL the Staff are nice and helpful and service at every level and dept are ALL excellent. The room is very comfortable and also on the 10th floor room we had the view of Ipoh surroundings is very nice, and esp the surrounding limestone hills / mountain...

This resort offers modern and ultra luxe accommodation right in the middle of the limes stone mountains of Ipoh. Surrounding the natural hot spring fed lake are private villas where guests can enjoy its beauty and harmony with nature and the experience just did not stop there. There is a cozy and swanky restaurant right inside a cave where you can enjoy probably one of...

On a self-drive trip to Malaysia and stopped over in Ipoh for a night. Made a good decision to book a family room at Best Western Premier The Haven. Met friendly staff, hotel environment was great, room was clean and spacious. Breakfast spread and quality were good. Will book this same place again when I next travel to Ipoh.

To me, this is the best hotel in Ipoh. the quality is tip top. nice rooms - modern concept. fantastic breakfast. best swimming pool. fantastic breakfast. and nice nightlife. because theres a beautiful night life across the hotel. just a 1-2min walk. I totally recommend this hotel to everyone who planning to stay in Ipoh. But i recommend the staff to improve more on the...

M Roof is the best hotel in Ipoh & is worth every penny. The room is modern & clean. Bed was comfy. It has 2 cafes on Ground Floor; Old Town Grand & The Morning After. The only thing missing is gym & pool facilities but if that is not your priority, M Roof is definitely the place to stay especially if room is the most important part of the stay.

Dated of stayed : 31.10.2017 to 03.11. 2017 (4 days and 3 nights) Classical Double Room No. 105 This is my second time here, the first from July 19, 2017 to July 21, 2017 Easy to get a shuttle transfer. I have booked a Classic double room and once confirmed, I will email it to lwhreservation@sunway.com.my (excluding public holidays and schools closed on Tuesdays), shut...

Clean and spacious, the hotel meets most important needs of any family with children. They also go out of their way to assist with guests needs for a quick changeover of rooms, especially when some rooms smell of cigarettes even on a non smoking floor. This is due to the inconsiderate nature of previous guests, but the hotel crew take ownership and assist to their best...

Love this hotel and really enjoyed my stay there. I was upgraded to Deluxe room with breakfast. The room is very spacious, breakfast was good, parking also good and feel safe and direct lift to room. Staff are all friendly. One of the best hotel in Ipoh and will definitely go back there for my next visit.

Stayed only for one night but very staisfied. Booked 2 rooms with interconnecting door. Mainly due to room size which size is quite generous, each bathroom got bathtub and best location to explore Ipoh city. Also we got complimentary parking at lower floors. Tried the swimming pool and quite like it, not too big or too deep. Bfast is also not bad and hotel staffs wer...

This may be a smallish 3-star hotel (without a swimming pool, gym & other facilities normally associated with higher end hotels & resorts), but it is definitely new (established in 2011) and clean. My family and I made a recent trip to Ipoh and had a good 2 night-stay at MH. Pleasantly surprised. We got the Family Room for RM350 per nite (RM390 for weekends and peak). ...

Spacious room, clean, nice ambiance, curteous staff, great food. Will definitely stay here for my next Ipoh trip. Parking is a bit hassle since the hotel share it with staff from the government building & no shaded parking. The bed is nice & stylish but need to do something about THE EDGES. Already got me & my son. Painful. Other than parking & bed edges, all are gr...

This is one of the best boutique hotel in Ipoh and the price is extremely reasonable. This hotel is decorated with modern mixed Europe steam punk design which is very unique. The hotel staff is very friendly and kind. The breakfast is quite good but it's have limited choice but the spread is fair enough. The hotel room is quite nice but just a little small, for those w...

I frequent this hotel after trying a few hotels in Ipoh. The location is great with proper parking space which is safe for the cars. The room rates are very reasonable, the environment of the hotel is great. Breakfast is complimentary but good enough to get you going. Will highly recommend to any types of travellers.

Due to the incredible services by this hotel, i make an effort to write this review just to let u all know about this hotel. I choose this hotel due past good reviews and seriously this is the best 3 stars hotel i ever meet. If u have budget around rm200 and looking for a place in ipoh, straight away book this hotel, u will not regret. believe me! We book 3 rooms i...

Growing up in Ipoh, my impression of mid-priced hotels in Ipoh was not a favourable one. This Lunar New Year, I chose to have a one-night's stay at French Hotel in Ipoh New Town after seeing pictures in Agoda. True to what I saw in pictures, the rooms were modernly furnished and quite clean. The king-sized bed was comfortable for my wife and I. The bathroom was above m...

Actally I wanted to stay in other MH Hotel where my company function was held. There are actually TWO MH Hotels in Ipoh. The one that I booked is in the outskirt of Ipoh about 30 km away. When I went to check in, I was told that this MH is the wrong MH. Luckily the hotel staff manage to correct the error and there was a room available. So to avoid further confusion pl...

1st time stay in pi hotel. Fast check in and friendly staff. Only 3 things Im not satisfied was the room they gave me "810" have some problems - basin's mixer spoil with only hot water supply cause me brush teeth half way have to go into the shower area use the shower mixer. 2nd the body shampoo machine was out of service when I bath half way...damn! Cause me have to m...

I was surprised at how centrally located the hotel was. Pub street was just behind, far enough so you don't hear the loud music from your room, but close enough to just take a 2 minute stroll to some of the best nightspots in town. It was also relatively near to a lot of the famous food shops. Two of the best dim sum in town are just a 4-minute walk away, perfect way t...

My brother and I both agree that the stay was very good if not excellent, probably the best hotel experience in their price range in Ipoh in terms of room facilities, hospitality, service, convenience, creature comforts, cleanliness, good design, location, etc. Debbie with her years of hotel experience is not only setting their own standards with their brand of servic...

By far the best botique hotel i have stayed in Ipoh. We took the Premium Suite Room The location is near to the Aeon Station 18 Shopping Mall within walking distance. But if you are looking for some food craving, you need a car to travel to the city center (around 20min drive) The staff there are friendly and even allowed us for late check-out due to heavy rain that t...

I am overly satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The room was really spacious and have a great facilities. I just cannot believe that I only pay a little money to enjoy a luxurious stay at this hotel. Previously I only stay at this one hotel not to be mentioned whenever I have a business meeting in Ipoh. Well, that hotel has lost me as their frequent customer because ...

A little bit small but taste good. Con: The only one is the hot water need to wait a while. Open water and wait about 2 Minutes....But still acceptable Not around downtown. The apartment we stayed was a 3-rooms apartment fully furnished and easily can accommodate 5 adults. Clean rooms and everything is still new. A smaller room can only fit in an adult to be comfortable. It was a short walking distance to 'Nga Choy Kei' Beansprout Chicken shops and famous confectioneries shops. The only tiny problem was the receptionist area was hard to...

A really exceptional boutique hotel in Ipoh. Hotel and rooms decorations are very true to Balinese style. Very romantically and tastefully done. The garden view room with bathtub is great. There’s a balcony area by the fish pond with beautiful and healthy koi fish. They provide you fish feeding food too so it can be a great experience for both children or adults. The b...

We didn't expect our hotel experience to be so good, given the price! Our bus arrived in Ipoh 2 hours early and just as we thought we would be stranded at the bus station, a call to D Eastern's front desk revealed that we can check-in as early as 830am because a room was already available. Wow, which other hotel does that?! Not any that I know of! We stayed there ...

Been here for a company event nearby. Great location with plenty amenities just a walking distance with big hypermall building just next to it. Room is clean and staff are quite fast in handling our check in. Eating wont be a problem as plenty of eatery places nearby and inside the shopping mall. If you are looking for fast gateaway medium budget hotel in Ipoh, this i...

Best place for stay in Ipoh. Very clean bathroom, this is point plus for this hostel. Near from ipoh parade, restoran tauge ayam lau wong, dataran ipoh and very close with 7eleven. I'm stay at female dorms and nice choice if you're travelling alone. Nice staff. Will be stay in here again if I'm travelling alone.

A very nice and helpful family opened this nice and brand new hostel some months ago. They did everything for the their guests you are thinking to be at home. They let me check-in some hours before and explained everything to explore the nice aerea in and around Ipoh. They're offering free citymaps and a nice coffee shop and restaurant next door. Cold water and a fla...

Location near Ipoh town center. Walking distance to restaurants, Mydin hypermarket, 7-eleven & bus terminal. Excellent room for a budget hotel. Big screen and clear screen tv with satellite channels, good water pressure, working water heater, shampoo and bath soap, bright room lighting, comfortable bed, 4 pillows, cool and quiet air-condition unit, free 2 water bottles...

This is a great place to stay for a variety of reasons. Ipoh is spread out geographically and can be difficult to navigate without hiring a taxi or renting a motorbike. It's a great place to explore for a taste of local Malaysian, Chinese, and Indian delights and off the well-beated path of the typical traveler. Don't pass it up. What makes Hotel Station 18 special? I...

It was easy to get a parking, however u must to reach this hotel because it's a distance from Ipoh city. Everything else is good, u can't expect much from a low price. I would say it is comfortable. Staff sleeps on the reception counter. U gotta wake her up if ur checking out early. That's not a problem.

Stay for one night only.nearby with restaurants.just quite shocked - 2 cockroach when checked in.maybe came from outside coz there's a lil gap at the room door.need to cover the gap with 'towels'😅budget hotel but enough space to perform solah.aircond all good condition.others, worth with every penny

Ok we read the past reviews and they were quite deterring, but we needed a place to stay on a last minute decision so the price was attractive enough. Considering the bad reviews, this place was actually not nearly as bad. Simple but clean room, splendid view of the limestone hills (if you get the front facing rooms) and friendly staff. Distance from Ipoh old town is t...

This is my third time stay at this hotel. If you are a solo traveller and a very private person, looking for a room for stay for 1 person, do look out for this hotel. The price is very affordable, and make sure booked from Agoda. The price is similiar to sharing @ dorm room. The place is quite easy to find. Only that it is far from Ipoh Town. About 20-30 mins to reach ...

Stayed for just a night because to visit Lost world theme park in ipoh. there was night bazaar (basar malam) when in stayed and the hotel located very far from city centre. will cost RM30 in taxi to reach here. This lodge feels Home, when we stayed inside. Run by a family themselves mending by the husband and wife together with their elder son. First thing that comes to mind is their friendliness, which we impromtu called them when we need transport to and fro from places around, and they will not hesitate and come pick us up, which we think that is called "Service for the gu...

The staff provide us the famous location around Ipoh. We do appreciate for their effort to do this for the first time travelers to Ipoh. The room although without window, but its spacious for 2 person and not stress to stay in the room. However they shall improve the hotel outlook, i were confuse at the first, because Waze showing different location, we managed to be t...

All their staffs went the extra mile to make our stay memorable and worthwhile. This was our first time in Ipoh and we received a lot of recommendations (eg: food, site tourist attractions and also places to buy their locals food products) from them. They would arrange a cab for us whenever we need as transportation in Ipoh is undevelop. They would bargain for us for a...

I got into Ipoh quite late and was glad that Hong Hin was an option close to bus station (15min walk) which I could check in at. Owner is friendly and helpful. Location of this place is excellent. Location locate very very near to all Ipoh best food! walking distance !! The air-conditioning is cold enough when the outside weather was sun burning. RM60 for triple room that allow to stay for 3 person is really very worth after all. I love the front desk girl who being very helpful to direct us the direction to locate nice food ! :D

Well, couldn't complain with this price paid. Been staying with them for the third time in 2 years time Receptionist was helpful and greeting us with smile, checked in during midnight time without any hassle Room is small but sufficient, exhaust fan for circulation, tv, aircond, bathroom attached , hot water shower are all i need for a sleep. Hotel location is convenient. Easy to find car park and is free parking. Great place for family and group gathering with clean beds and all basic necessities. Communication and check in process need improvement. The apts we booked were apparently owned by private owner and not by Riverfront Hotel & Suite so we can’t check in at the hotel reception. It was unclear to u...

Concept by WEIL is a fantastic concept indeed, boutique within a hotel. Almost everything was perfect, the lounge on Level 12, the attentive service, snacks on minibar, comfy bed and the Concept itself. What could have been better is the cleanliness of the room. Dust was evident everywhere in the room eg once you draw the curtains and on the sink and wardrobe. For this...

Real reviews for hotels
Its an old city with lots of good food, the hotspringat lost world is excellent and its very nearby to go to the beaches.
Ipoh used to be my hometown. Kind of nostalgic feeling whenever I stopped by. Miss the environment, food, school.
Historical town with old building for photographer lover, wall paint by Ernest is the popular area for tourist.
IPOH, I will always remember this place! all good, the Old Town really reflect the past of a certain town, food were amazing! People we've met were great and the places like Gua Tempurung is exciting! I would definitely go back Ipoh one of these days!
It is a quaint little town with lots of old buildings and beautiful old architectures. It is a very relaxing town, with no issue of traffic and parking at all.
A very relaxing place to visit with full of nature sight-seeing. The Lost World of Tambun is a must place to visit.
Ipoh is an old town with colonial era buildings still intact. Although the city now boasts of new shopping malls, travellers still roam the old section of the city taking in the Indian enclave and pre-war buildings selling mainly wholesale dried marine products.
Good Hawker food everywhere even Muslim people eating at chinese hawker center, very harmony environment.
A convenient pit stop for leisure travellers heading north towards Penang. Great local food and very beautiful limestone hills surrounding the city if one chooses to pay some attention.
Love the dim sum at restaurant Foh San, the salted chicken, the biscuits at Yee Hup. Enjoyed the activities and art & craft shops at the heritage trail in old town.
Ipoh is an old tin mining town with few newly established shopping centres. There are many limestone caves for tourists to visit around Ipoh, the most notable ones are Gua Tempurung and Kek Lok Cave.
One of the must try food is the Tauge Ayam (bean sprouts). Ipoh's bean sprouts are thicker & juicier compared to those else where.
I stayed in Ipoh for 3 days, had spent 1 days in the Lost world of Tambun, kids really enjoy it. 2nd day visited a few cave including 清心岭,霹雳洞,极乐洞。we stop by Tambun to buy Limau Bali, 362 烧饼。Then we went to Ipoh old town to drink their famous white coffea.
A number of places that can be visited: 1. Lost World of Tambun 2. Concubine Street 3. Beautiful building of the colonial era
Ipoh is a historical city in Peninsular Malaysia with quite a few old colonial buldings still standing strong today.
Friendly loving place with delicious food, lots of Indian and chinese in this area, can speak multi language.
Driving in ipoh is the best travelling mode. There are many natural attractions to go. Nice food at affordable prices.
Beautiful old buildings in old town nearby train station. Good and delicious local food at Aneka Food court!
If you prefer to have a short trip to enjoy nice food and coffee. This is definitely a good place for coffee lovers.
A nice place for sightseeing. A lot of hipster cafes/restaurants and old cafes/food courts. Both are worth the trip to Ipoh.
Ipoh is very nice city for food and its very famous for pamelo fruits. Nearby mountains, cold enviroment and more fun
If you just go one or two days, go to old town first since the shops will be closed earlier than new town, take a coffee break, get around the train station, etc.
Ipoh famous with it's local food and cuisine. Try the famous Ipoh White Coffee. Look at old coffee shop instead of chain cafes.
Ipoh eventually was a tin mining area due to that its has been develop into a small city. Tin mine will no longer this day the local are more to agriculture.
The city is clean and well maintained. Food is excellent. People are friendly and helpful. Feel relaxed and do not feel the city rush here during the weekend.
A small town with full of chinese food which are chicken rice, dim sum, "siu chow", "yim kok gai" etc
Currently Ipoh is not getting high volumes of international tourists compared to Kuala Lumpur and Malacca.
Ipoh is home to lots and lots of delicious food! From signature roasted duck, Ipoh's famous white coffee to dessert street, you just have to try them all.
Small city with friendly locals. Food was great. Could not comment much on sightseeing and others as my trip was more of foodie trip.
Must go to the old traditional coffee shop: 1. Nam Heong 2. Sekeping Kong Heng Must go to Dim Sum: Yoke Fook Moon Must try local Chicken Rice.
